22 THINGS I LEARNED IN 22 YEARS

As some of you may know I turned 22 years old a week ago. Today I decided to tell you 22 things I have learned in 22 years.

  1. Sometimes things won’t go the way you planned, and thats okay.

A lot of the time we makes these plans like I’m going to this college, I’m going to be a doctor, have a huge house and a beautiful family. But when it comes down to it a lot of the time things change. People change, we change. Sometimes a dream we once had won’t come true because it just doesn’t work out and thats OKAY. Most of the time our plan doesn’t work out but it’s just because God has something bigger and better.

  2. Don’t Rush

Don’t rush into anything. Especially don’t rush relationships. Anything worth having is worth waiting for.

  3. Become a Yes man

Okay you don’t necessarily HAVE  to say yes to everything but get out of your comfort zone! My sister and I made a pact earlier in the year that we will say yes to everything haha! As long as it doesn’t harm ourselves or anyone else we’re down! Trying new things is a good way to make new friends, push yourself to it’s limit and see what you like! Who knows, that thing you were scared to do might become your new favorite hobby!

  4. Celebrate the little things

There’s always something to be happy about and something to celebrate about! No matter how big or how small, it’s still a blessing! Celebrate!

  5. Say I love You more

Now for this one I’m not talking about lovey dovey relationship and saying I love you to your significant other, of course you’d have no problem saying that! Say I love you more to your family, to the ones you love because who knows how long you will have them with you.

  6. Change is good

Change is scary sometimes, I admit most of the time I don’t like it. It makes me nervous..I get anxious, but change is good. Cut and dye your hair, move to a different state, try a new hobby, change up your daily routine because sometimes doing the same old thing gets boring.

  7. Guard your heart

I know your heart probably longs for someone but be careful who you choose to love, not everyone has the best intensions. Wait and hold on to Gods promises and let Him guide you.

  8. It’s okay to make mistakes

We’re not perfect, we’re human. We’re bound to make mistakes, but that doesn’t separate us from Gods love. Fall down seven, get up eight.

  9. Have fun

Life doesn’t have to be all that serious! Have fun, enjoy yourself! Yes work hard but don’t forget to take a break once in awhile. Like the famous Ferris Bueller says that “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.”

  10. Friends come and go

Not everyone will stay, so let them go. New people will come into your life at the right moment. Cherish them.

  11. Do yo thang

Who cares if people watch, who cares if people talk about you, who cares if people judge. Do what makes YOU happy.

  12. Let your past go

You won’t be able to live if you let your past control you life. What’s happened is already done. Learn from it and move on.

  13. Your siblings can be your best friends

At least for me they are haha!

  14. Follow your dreams

Don’t let people tell you that you can’t accomplish your dreams. You can do anything you put your mind to. Follow your dreams so that when you are older you won’t regret it and wonder what if.

  15. If it’s love it will last

If it was really love it would’ve last. Hold onto that hope of finding someone, that day will come.

  16. Live healthy and love your body

I used to just eat everything I want and thought that just because I was smaller meant I was healthy, but I was wrong. Just this year I learned about eating healthy and it’s SO nice. You’re body will thank you! It’s never too late to start.

  17. Always keep God first

Without Him being first in your life you’ll feel like you’re lost wandering through the desert trying to get yourself back home. Life is so much better when He is your first love, when He is first in your life. Put Him first and watch everything else fall together.

  18. Love yourself

Nothing more important than loving yourself. If you can’t love yourself how do you expect other people to? God made you special. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Love your skin, the goofy smile you have when you laugh, love the small wrinkles near your eyes that come out only when you smile. Love every single part of yourself, because there’s only one you and you deserve it.

  19. Live in the moment

Not everything needs to be documented by videos or pictures. As a youtuber/blogger that’s something I always struggle with. Wherever I go and whatever I do I always want to document it and take pictures. Sometime you need to put those cameras/phones down and take a deep breathe and enjoy the moment. Some things are better experienced than recorded by camera.

  20. Expect the unexpected

Thing always happen unexpectedly, whether it’s a relationship or you end up getting a new pet. Hope for the best, expect the worst. Always expect the unexpected.

  21. Control your emotions

I know controlling your emotions is something that is very hard to do. More often times than not we can’t. But we can definitely channel them into something else. I’ve always been someone who would always be quick to anger, even the slightest thing that would annoy me I would let the situation control my emotions. We all know times like that don’t end well, we end up saying things that hurt the other person and it goes downhill from there. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned over the years and from Pastor Steven Furtick is that we can’t let our emotions control us, we have to take control, pray and learn to be slow to anger and quick to love and forgive.

  22. Eat well, Travel often

Out of all my years of living this is the best thing that I have learned. Treat yourself sometimes, eat what you want. Eat well. Being healthy is important but it also is important to live a little. Lastly, travel often. Life is too short to not travel. Your 20s are a time for you to find yourself, find who you are, who you want to be. It’s a time to makes mistakes, to learn new things. Travel and experience new cultures, make new experiences and memories. Eat well and travel often is definitely a moto I live by.

These are just some of the things that I have learned throughout the years, of course there are plenty more but these are the ones that I feel like are the most important to me. Live life, experience it to the fullest. We don’t know how long we will live here on Earth so cherish every moment.
